RESEARCH
University of Cincinnati
Since 2005, CTIC’s primary research and development partner has been the University of Cincinnati (Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering and Smart Materials Nanotechnology Lab). Lead researchers are Vesselin Shanov, PhD, and Mark Schulz, PhD.
In addition to their work with CTIC's carbon nanosphere material, Drs. Shanov, Schulz and their team have made significant discoveries and advances in other areas related to carbon nanotubes, other nanomaterials, processes and applications. The University of Cincinnati works with other universities, corporations and the U.S. Government in developing new nanomaterials and applications.

Southwest Research Institute
SwRI has been utilized by CTIC to do lubrication/additive research on its carbon nanosphere chain material. Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) is an independent, nonprofit applied research and development organization. The staff of 3,000 specializes in the creation and transfer of technology in engineering and the physical sciences. The Institute occupies more than 1,200 acres in San Antonio, Texas, and provides nearly two million square feet of laboratories, test facilities, workshops and offices.
Some of its many areas of research include: Mechanical and Materials Engineering, Engine and Vehicle, Fuels and Lubricants and Aerospace Electronics.
